Thermal Imaging
Thermal Imaging is widely used as one of the predictive maintenance tools in many non-destructive testing situations. Infrared radiation is emitted by all objects based on their temperatures, Thermal Imaging or Thermography makes it possible to "see" one's environment with or without visible illumination. The amount of radiation emitted by an object increases with temperature, therefore thermography allows one to see variations in temperature. When viewed by a thermographic camera, warm objects stand out well against cooler backgrounds.
There are many uses for thermal imaging, here are a few:
- Water damaged and wet areas for Mold Investigations
- Leaking flat roofs
- Poor electrical connections
- Leaking air conditioning systems
- Missing insulation
- Inefficient windows
- Filled cells in block walls
